FLOW - A state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems
to matter.
- Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
Founded in March 1996, Flow began as a consulting group which provided mathematical,
technology, and trading services to the financial industry. Flow's
clients have included an options market making group on the exchange floors in Chicago, London and Frankfurt,
a New York based biotech hedge fund, a Chicago based options trading hedge fund, and an international
clearing firm.
Outside of the financial markets, Flow has a demonstrated commitment to social,
environmental and health issues. Highlights include Flow's participation in the Campaign
to Keep "Organic" Organic, the Making a Profit While Making a Difference Conference, EarthSave
International, Sustain, and the National Health Association. Additionally, Flow Arts, Inc.
was created to support the arts through its theatre, film, and music coproductions. These have included
Mango & Persimmon's production of "Repeat w/ Madeline", Lively Arts' production of "Brundibar", and
Thirteenth Tribe's production of "How to be Sawed in Half". Flow Arts, Inc. has an ongoing
relationship with Chicago writer/director Hurt McDermott, singer/songwriter Kate Schrock, the performance
ensemble Luma, and the Chicago performance space Voltaire Theatre.
